Stunning photos show a deer shedding it’s velvet in Alaska

Stunning images have emerged of a deer shedding the velvet from its antlers. The rare sight was captured by Gary Kramer who spotted the buck at Denali National Park in Alaska.

A majestic caribou stands against a vibrant backdrop of autumnal tundra. Its impressive antlers, tinged with red, seem to mirror the warm hues of the foliage below. The caribou’s thick coat suggests the coming winter, while the colorful landscape hints at the beauty of the changing seasons.

This is an elk that is felt coming off it’s antlers happens during rutting season. It didn’t kill another elk it’s just something that happens after the antlers are fully grown.

Actually that’s a Reindeer. Northern Europe. North American Wapiti or Elk have a very different hair coat and color. Much darker almost black around neck and shoulders. But antler shedding non-the-less for both.
